Dudson Stories in Clay

‘Dudson Stories in Clay’ is the second of our temporary displays and as the name suggests, features Dudson pottery with a background story, sometimes fact and sometimes fiction. The background narrative of these selected items is easily overlooked when viewing the entire Dudson Collection, so the specially selected items highlighted in this new display offer not only a new perspective but also some surprises! From Disney to Dickens, there is something for everyone, to enlighten, educate or just simply entertain. ‘Dudson Stories in Clay’ is set alongside the permanent, unique Dudson Collection, so if you are a first-time visitor to our museum, why not linger to absorb more about the Dudson legacy, all housed in a Grade ll listed bottle oven. The museum is open 10am-3pm, Monday-Friday and there is also a café on site open until 3pm. The display runs from Thursday 3rd August until Thursday 19th October.

All enquiries about this event and related children’s workshops and story activities over the summer, plus the forthcoming “Discover the Dudson Legacy” for Heritage Open Days in September, please call 01782 683141.
