School’s Area

The Dudson Museum is a great place for an educational visit.

Set in a bottle kiln within a historic pottery factory, the museum provides a great opportunity to learn about the history of one of the oldest family-run pottery firms. Young people are able to explore the fantastic pottery collection, and learn about social history; what life was like for children and young people in the Potteries “back in the day”.

Based in the Dudson Centre in Hanley, there are meeting room facilities of various sizes which provide a fully equipped classroom and break-out space, with an onsite café to meet any catering requirements.

The museum welcomes visits from school groups as well as holiday and out-of-school clubs of all ages, offering half and full day visits including guided tours, presentations and creative workshops.

The museum is currently open from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday but we are always happy to arrange out-of-hours visits by prior arrangement. Please get in touch to find out more.

In the meantime, we have created some resources which we hope will be useful for teachers and educators.
